I see photographs as fixed mirrors.  They show objects in the frame of the lens, while creating something different from reality.  They are created in an instant, but endure unbound by time.  Photographs are abstractions of our world, yet reinforce how we view it.   I am fascinated by the tension between the objective world, a world that the photograph is anchored to, and its idiosyncratic reflection, a mental creation.

I am interested in crafting images that echo something unexpected.  I like unearthing order, rhythm, pattern and detail unnoticed by the routine of our vision. I aspire to create images that contain meaning beyond direct representation and test our conscious awareness.

I am a professional photographer living in Hancock Maine.  I take my camera hiking, kayaking and birding.  I create one of kind, archival artwork with refinished antique frames that complement each photograph.
